Monastery Restaurant

The Monastery Restaurant is proud to be British and our food reflects this, simple, elegant and where possible sourced locally.

We are situated in the Ancient town of Rye at the top of the High Street by East Cliff. Although the quaint shop front is small the restaurant itself is much larger and opens into a spacious area that can seat sixty guests.

The restaurant has a feeling of calm and tranquillity. A conservatory looks out over the old monastery with its fantastic medieval architecture, set off in the evening by gentle lighting. There is a pretty planted garden that can be seen and admired through large windows at the rear of the restaurant, altogether a perfect venue to relax and enjoy fine traditional cuisine.

Our restaurant's opening times may change with the seasons, so please call to avoid disappointment. The Monastery Restaurant is also available for private functions. Subject to prior arrangement our chef will be pleased to cater for your individual event; Wedding or Christening; tea parties to banquets, we can make your celebration complete.

Our wine is supplied through an independent supplier and is not available in the shops. Guests are more than welcome to come in for a glass or bottle without purchasing food. But we are confident that once at our restaurant you will stay and enjoy our cuisine and inspiring ambience!
